GITEX NEWSLETTER 2009
Oct 26, 2009

Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al-Maktoum officially inaugurates the 2009 GITEX Technology  last week. Oct 18th – 22nd 2009

Though the event is said to have been quieter than previous years with footfall down approximately 40%, we saw a marked difference in the equality of enquiries on our UK pavilion stand RWN – Roomwithnet Hall 2 E 2-4.

This year we launched RWNBluetooth, during the show and continued to concentrate on RWN’s products Virtual Concierge - IPTV and Virtual Sign - Digital Signage.

The week started off on a high as we signed up to Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) for all their Digital Signage requirements and having received the contract on the previous Sunday, the client asked if there was any possibility of having an install by the 17th for the start of GITEX, a tall order to say the least, but well done to Anil and John for pulling out all the stops, meaning DWTC had their systems running, as requested in time for the great day!

For a PR exercise, it was truly superb to be able to say to Gitex delegates enquiring on our stand about Digital Signage that DWTC was a client and as they wandered around the corridors pleased to take a minute to look at the screens and see how effective digital signage can be at putting messages and information across.

We were able to assist AVI with their 15 foot Video wall in Sheikh Saeed Hall with content within 24 hours of the request. Success with a big S.

Enquiries are being dealt with, quotations have gone out, systems integrators signed up and meetings are happening throughout the GCC with Peter Cowan, Andrew Prince and Sher Maurya.

The hard work now begins but we look forward to seeing you same time, same place in 2010.
